Cyano-Bot
An autonomous robot that embodies a bloom of cyanobacteria in Lake Champlain, steering toward sunlight while its sensor data drives a drowned 3D city.
Exploratory research into robotics in Lake Champlain, where the robot embodies a blob of cyanobacteria. Built from a microcontroller and micro water pumps, the autonomous body propels itself in search of the brightest sunlight.
Its movement is streamed into a 3D environment program, which projects the robot's photosensor data into a cityscape after sea levels have risen to the point where the habitat has become ideal for cyanobacteria.
